I am kind of bummed that it has taken 8 years of visiting my in-laws in Havasu for them to finally introduce us to Scotty's! I guess you can say, better late than never. Our party of 6 ordered chicken, macaroni salad, biscuits, coleslaw and broasted potatoes. My mother-in-law really talked up the coleslaw and chicken and my husband and I kept adding to the order so we could try other stuff. The chicken and coleslaw were totally delightful...don't let the green slaw turn you off! Biscuits...awesome and macaroni salad...awesome. The broasted potatoes are the only thing I disliked. They didn't have much flavor. I would have preferred to save those calories for more biscuits! The service was very friendly and attentive, even on a busy Saturday night. They were very accommodating of our children and made the experience that much better.

Scotty's is the best. Always made to order. They have plenty of dine-in space but I always take mine home or down to the boat. It's always still piping hot when we finally start eating it. Seems like we're always having a late dinner at Havasu so we usually phone-in the order about 15 minutes til closing. They never complain and often times there is an extra piece of chicken or two, nice! I you never had Broasted Chicken, try it.

Really good chicken... Really shitty customer service. I've been eating here for years and always thought the place was pretty good until my last two visits. I came here about 3 weeks ago and ordered some chicken to go. When I got home with my order I discovered they had forgotten my side item (macaroni salad). That is SO annoying when you pay for something and you don't get it. I called them on the phone and was told "we will keep your ticket up at the register so next time you come in you can get it". Not a big deal, I wasn't going to drive back down just to pick up the mac salad. The annoying part was she didn't even apologize for it. Whatever... I knew I would be back. So Wednesday night I went back and order a chicken dinner to go and I told the lady working that my ticket should be up there because last time they forgot my salad. Well... this must happen OFTEN because they had about 10 tickets paper clipped together at the register. She looked through them all and didn't find my name. I told her it was 3 weeks ago and only a mac salad. She said "it's not here". and that was that. I paid for my order and as I sat there waiting for my food I got more and more annoyed at what shitty service that was and her bad attitude. So when my food was ready, I asked nicely if she could look through the tickets again and told her what I ordered (at this point it was the principle of the matter and not really about the $2 salad). She was totally annoyed that I asked again and she flipped thru the tickets again. "NOPE" was her answer. She was a bitch with an attitude and no way in hell was she going to try and make something right for the customer. So I left Scotty's without my salad for the second time (and last time). yeah, the chicken is good (and pricey).... but not good enough to wanna spend my money here again.... at least not for a long while until I get over it. This is one of those businesses that has a good following and does well and then the people working there seem to develop an attitude... almost like a 'take it or leave it' attitude because they are the only broasted chicken place in town...... Well... I'll leave it.

Read other Yelp reviews and being tired and wet from sun and fun, we chose this for take out. Will not return again on any trip here. The food was very hot which was great but when we got to our room to eat, we had no napkins--for ribs and fried chicken--no utensils--for baked beans and coleslaw (we used the plastic kids as make-shift spoons--no ketchup or salt for the two large potato wedges (which tasted okay but thick and dry), no butter for the very dry biscuit (definitely not light and fluffy!). The flavor of of the dry ribs was not good--broke up the meat and made a treat for our two dogs (They've been great traveling companions). The coleslaw and beans were too vinegary for me but others may like them. The chicken was the best part but was so disappointed in everything else, it's not worth the trouble. Disappointed in the whole meal. Hope your experience is better. If you are taking it out, don't expect the server to think of what you might need. You'll have to ask for condiments and utensils for your finger food!!! After traveling and swimming we just expected better service on their part--that's part if being in the restaurant business. We always try to hit the local businesses when traveling and Yelp usually helps us make good choices--not on this one.

Scotty's is to die for! Their chicken and ribs are simply amazing! The owner, Scott, is so friendly! Love coming in when he works. My family and I have been coming here for 15 years, never been disappointed. They go above and beyond to make their customers happy!

First impression (appearance) a 3 star joint but the food is OMG. I ordered the fried chk 8 piece, slaw, and chk fingers. The best fried chk I have ever had. Don't judge this book by its cover cause the food is out of this world.

Good but not as good as I had expected based on the yelp reviews.

Scotty's Broasted Chicken is yumazing, broasted chicken is not fried chicken. It is a different method of cooking. That being said, this chicken is always flavorful and moist and falls off the bone. The menu is pretty assorted and extensive and everything we have tried is really good. We love Scotty's!

  • Shawn M.

Best chicken in Havasu! If you haven't tried it, you have to. Expect to wait and pay a little more, but it's worth every minute and penny.

Scotty's is a good old fashion chicken & ribs place the chicken was good so were the ribs were good also the service was also pretty darn good and fairly quick even had Scotty stop bye. I did like the sides over good home cooking

This place is supposed to have the best fried chicken in town. For Lake Havasu City that's not saying much. I went here with my gradmother, dad, and uncle one night while I was in town visiting. Like everyone else that night I got a 3 piece chicken meal with french fries and coleslaw. The chicken itself was alright but I have had better here in SD (like at Magnolia's). The french fries were great - super crispy and really hot so I could tell they were made fresh. And for the side dishes my coleslaw was really good. My dad had the baked beans, my uncle had the potato salad, and my grandmother had the three bean salad. All the side dishes were really tasty and I could tell they were all home made. Since we got here about 30 minutes before closing we got are food really quick. The service was alright but I think our waitress only came by our table once or maybe twice to check in to see how the meal was. Overall it was okay since there are not that many choices for places to eat in Havasu. Next time I am in town I will have to try it again.

Love coming here. It's a tradition in my family whenever we are in town. The chicken is yummy and we also like the 3 bean salad.

rough day for us today at good old scottys, food was good as usual, server they had on duty been there before but very loud and mouthy today, cussing and complaining and overall not in good taste, go to eat not listen to someone complain about having to work and cussing like its going out of style, i understand help is hard to get nowadays in havasu but got to be better than this out there

What a wonderful restaurant and excellent service. The food is always great and prompt and the owner came and greeted my party and made us feel at home. This is always a stop for my family and I after a long day on the boat.

On my way to the hotel I saw this place and it looked like somewhere I wanted to try while I was here. The parking lot was full, which is always a good sign. I ordered the two piece chicken dinner, with broasted potatoes and jade salad. The chicken was crispy and juicy, but not greasy at all. The jade salad was delicious, it's made with pistachio pudding mix, crushed pineapple and mini marshmallows. It was a sweet ending to my meal.

Decided to give this place at the recommendation of another lady during our stay in Flagstaff. The chicken and biscuit were delicious. The pork ribs on the other hand was decent. Service was great (could be the standard in Arizona). I ordered the special of the day, the broasted chicken and pork ribs.

We were looking for something different than a "chain" restaurant while visiting Lake Havasu this week and we decided to try Scotty's. We ordered the 8 piece family meal (white meat), a half rack of ribs, and a half order of fried zucchini. The order pickup time was 20 min and it was just being packaged up when we arrived. The person helping us asked us if we needed utensils and was happy to provide them for us. Every part of our meal was delicious but the broasted chicken was the star of the show. Huge pieces of chicken that were hot and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The ribs were good but I will stick to the chicken on our next visit. Reminded me of southern fried chicken!!

We've been longtime customers of Scottie's, it's a family favorite and we stop in whenever we're in town. We LOVE the chicken and biscuits and the service is always great. We ordered to-go for dinner tonight and we're disappointed to learn that they've switched from the best biscuits ever to ordinary Hawaiian rolls. Dinner was delicious as usual, but PLEASE bring the biscuits back!

Broasted Chicken was awesome! Potatoes & coleslaw were excellent as was the service. We will be going back soon.

Thanks to the wonderful yelpers here that I had decided to try this place out. As a shop in a tiny plaza and in a area I am unfamiliar with, it would never had alerted me to drop in. My husband and friends gave me this wierd look saying, "um...theres barely anyone here, it looks empty and it looks like a little shack out of nowhere". I insisted and besides, they just barely opened, I said. Well to the food: Their chicken was delicious and flavorful. The spuds (potatoes) were ok and not as flavorful, but I wasn't here for the spuds. The macaroni salad was ok and would have rather ordered the biscuits. (minus 1/2 points) parking was plenty. Food took awhile to arrive but they have this menu like thing at your table which was a riddle/question guessing game etc on there. Like a newsletter/paper. We were there to relax and enjoy our time with friends, so this not only side tracked us from the long wait, it really makes us learn to relax but as busy people we are all nowadays, I still have to (minus 1/2 point on that one) The service was great. Tip: Check out their website for discounts and coupons. I had printed out a free drink coupon which I had left at home. They were nice to honor it from my phone. Eco-friendly and reasonable staff!

This place came highly recommended from family and friends. Food smelled amazing as soon as we walked in. We placed our order of a catfish dinner and a half rack of ribs and sat at a table. 45 minutes had passed since placing the order so we requested to take the order to go. Both the waitress and cashier were extremely friendly and accomodating. Frequently checking on us to refill our waters and making polite conversation. Another 30 minutes passed before we finally received our food. Upon getting home and opening the packages we were highly disapointed. We were both missing items from our orders and the rib box literally had bbq sauced empty rib bones and The catfish can only be described as mediocre. We did however order a deep fried twinkie for desert since neither of us had eaten one before and that was delicious. We're really hoping we just caught this place on a bad day because it should not take over an hour to receive the quality of food we did.

This place is delicious. The chicken is wonderful and the food is prepped pretty fast. We ordered some fried mushrooms, a chicken special, and my husband ordered a chicken/rib combo. I really loved the chicken and the broasted potato. The mushrooms probably were bought frozen then fried, but they tasted good. Overall, it was a great (read: FILLING) meal. We felt bad for the waitress. She was taking orders at the register, seating people, and bringing them their meals. All the while she would run around getting people refills. The place was really filling up towards the end of our meal and she was having to help many people. Perhaps there is a way to not put so much responsibility on her?

Best chicken ever, food cooked to order! A definite repeat, staff is friendly and funny. Lived here for over a year, was recommended but never got around to it, no wonder KFC is getting ready to close. Very similar to what Tom's chicken shack used to be like back in the 1970's in Wynola, just below Julian CA.

Not just the BEST chicken in Lake Havasu, it is my favorite chicken period. Even better then Roscoe's fried chicken and waffles (which says allot) The breast are always big ,juicy and has a great crust and flavor. They always seems to give you more then you ordered. All the chicken is good, even the dark meat (which I usually don't like). Ribs-tender, good flavor and comes right off the bones. Broasted potatoes are OK. French fries are great Onion rings-crunchy, always cooked right--some of the best around. Cole slaw--the best hands down Beans very good. We have ate at the restaurant, which is small, but all the staff is real friendly. If we didn't eat here some trips , we always stop out of town, to bring it home for dinner. I have never tried the deep fried twinkie, but always want to. THIS IS A MUST STOP IN LAKE HAVASU.

Excellent chicken! Their broasting process produces a greaseless, perfectly cooked and tasty clucker. The rest (coleslaw, fries [lots!] and fish) were very good as well. My wife didn't like the potato salad. The reason for the low rating is the service (the place is simply too busy for two waitpersons to handle orders, register and food delivery!) and most especially the lack of plates and utensils. Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils seriously degrade what would otherwise be a good dining experience.

We were here for lunch on our road trip passing thru London Bridge. We ordered 2 lunch specials which included drinks. We had 2pcs chicken with broasted potato and coleslaw, and riblets with fries and macaroni salad. Riblets was prettty good and there was a lot of riblets in the box. On the other hand, 2 pcs chicken was like an appertizer. We liked the food, but we did not like waiting 20 minutes for them because we were on a road trip with a lot of driving ahead of us.

Scotty's food never disappoints! Had a meal there on Labor Day with my daughter who was visiting from out of state, and we had so much food we both had extra meals! Fresh and great flavor, and she loves their fried zucchini appetizers.

Scotty's has the best chicken I've ever had. Its a must eat when in Havasu. Also love the broasted spuds, cole slaw and bbq beans.

Had take out while visiting family. Although they had run out of their famous cole slaw, the chicken and ribs were excellent. Chicken was juicy and because broasted instead of Fried was not greasy. The meal feed 13 adults was reasonably priced and we even had left overs. Overall one of the best pieces if fried chicken I have had! Will definitely stop by again if ever back in Havasu!

  • John E.

The service was great. My girlfriend and I ordered carry out and the manager kept checking with us to see if we needed water while we were waiting. All orders are cooked to order. Overall the food was above average especially the coleslaw and fries. The one issue was the chicken was very salty.

  • Abby L.

We always take out our chicken dinners. Every time it is fabulous!!! I never eat my chicken all the way to the bone and this chicken is always polished all the way to the bone!! Biscuits are the bomb. Cole slaw makes my mouth water. Potatoes so yummy. Favorite chicken!!!

  • Janet M.

Scotty's Broasted Chicken and Ribs is awesome. I used to live in Lake Havasu, and there wasn't a lot of awesome to be found in the way of food ( sorry Lake Havasu), but this chicken is the bomb. I liked the potatoes too. And the biscuits. Yum. I'm glad to hear it is still there.

As I mentioned in a previous post I have a must visit list of restaurants when I come to Lake Havasu not only is Scotty's on there, it is on there TWICE!! It is a must! My fiance was skeptical at first as he doesnt like fried chicken nor does he like to eat chicken off the bone, but i told him he had to try it and there is enough meat to pick off and never have to be near a bone, the breasts are HUGE!!! I keep trying to talk my mother into Next Day Airing Scotty's to the Bay Area because this place is beyond fantastic. Side note- most of the time when you go when it is slow, they will throw in extra chicken

    (5)
  • Tyler M.

Really good food. A bit pricey though, plan on $10-15 per person. Seriously worth it, I get a Scotty's craving every few weeks. Even when the place is packed, it's never taken longer than 15-20 minutes to get food.

  • Mel E.

Wanted to try something local. Ordered a full rack of ribs and family chicken meal. They cooked the chicken fresh for us, good but a little salty. The ribs were delicious, tender and falling off the bones. Coleslaw very green and mild in flavor. It took a while but I figure it was because of the them frying up the chicken fresh and we were not in a hurry. Good spot for chicken and ribs!

They have Bomb Chicken and Ribs! Don't bother going to KFC... They have the chicken dinner market cornered! Awesome food great service!

Straight up, this side of Havasu I rarely frequent. Restaurants on this side of the highway either don't do well and change hands frequently or they've been around forever. Scotty's has been here forever. I've only been inside once, but that was enough for me. Don't get me wrong, they have killer deep fried mushrooms. They are hands down my favorite. Now I just make other people pick up the delicious fried goodness and chow down at home. Yum!

Had not been here in many years and was so happy to come here and still have amazing chicken best ever. I don't live in havasu any more and look for chicken in the Seattle area and have not found anything close.

Been going to Scotty's for 20 years and usually delicious. The past couple times have not been as good. Tonight we decided to do take out and when we picked up we were assured everything was In the bag. We asked for honey and butter and got none. The chicken was fantastic, but only one breast when we should of gotten 3. Worst part, the coleslaw which my entire family loves had gone bad. Tasted and smelled bad. Very disappointing since this restaurant has always been one of our favorites

The search nearby feature on the Yelp mobile app strikes again! This place came up as one of about 10 restaurants that were really close to me. I think what got me was the chicken and ribs part along with the 4 star average rating so off I went! As I come in, I am greeted by a very nice lady by the name of Sherry. Remember her name folks, because if she she is the one who becomes your main server, you are in very good hands. I tell her that it was my first time. She smiles, hands me a to go menu for better reading and says to take my time. After going over the menu and realizing just how many good choices there are, I said I was gonna need more than a minute to decide. Again, she politely says no worries and to let her know when I was ready. I decided to go with the 2 Piece Chicken n 3 Rib Combo for 11.99. Comes with Broasted Potatoes, a Biscuit, and your choice of Cole Slaw, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, 3 Bean Salad, or Macaroni Salad. I went with the Potato Salad. I pay and make my way to my table. Now remember, they make your order fresh so you have to wait for a bit. I recommend that you not be in be in a rush if you plan on eating here. The chicken itself was really good. Crispy and crunchy on the outside while soft and juicy on the inside. As I chewed the outer crunchy portion of it, I can verify that the grease was almost non existent. The broasted potatoes were good too in similar fashion. The ribs? It was kind of a disappointment. It was kind of fatty and did not have much flavor except for the barbeque sauce that was poured on it. The biscuit and the potato salad were very good. Since monday and tuesday are designated as Chicken n Ribs combo day, it was a dollar off. Now for the service. Pay real close attention or you will not understand what im about to tell you. Like I mentioned earlier, Sherry up front took my order and also brought it out when it was done. A few minutes later as I was eating my meal, she came around and asked if I needed anything, especially a refill on my diet pepsi. I said not at the moment and she went back to the front. All the while, customers are steadily streaming into the restaurant putting their orders in. It was at point that I realized that Sherry was a really good server because the lady that took her spot was going around handing out every body's finished order while asking everybody else that was already eating if they needed anything. Thats when I noticed she didnt even bother to look in my direction. Only when i ran out of soda was when I needed their attention. Again several minutes later that same lady did the same thing and did not bother to look in my direction. This time I said excuse me as she walked by so she finally talked to me. She grabbed my cup to go get a refill. After several minutes, I saw Sherry bringing out orders so I asked her about my refill. She came back with it promptly. I assume that they both helped each other out by switching back and forth from the front to bringing the food out. I thought that was an efficient way of handling customers unless you are the one that is ignored. Maybe it was the table I sat at which was number 8. Maybe that other lady thought I didnt need anything since I got there. Maybe........*Gasp......she was racist. Now I know that sounds ridiculous but if you saw a server go around the whole entire room asking every body if they were ok TWICE without even looking in your direction until you literally had to say excuse me, then it should make you wonder. Since this was happening, I just had to take a look at alll of the customers all around the room. Everybody there was all caucasian including the two servers. Coincidence? I hope for that lady's sake it was because it all seemd surreal at that time. Finally as I finished my meal, I sat there wondering how im gonna stay awake to make that 2 and a half hour trip back to Vegas with a full stomach. Sherry sees me in deep thought and I explain what I just mentioned. So she comes back with about 4 lollipops and some toothpicks. Now if she was my server the whole time, I would have been ecstatic. To show my gratitude, I put 5 bucks on the table as I left. I hope Sherry gets that tip and not the other lady. The only tip she should get is to read Dr Martin Luther King's famous "I have a dream" speech. Sure, I am looking forward to my next visit for the seafood section of their menu looks awesome not to mention the sides. Hopefully, it will be Sherry serving me the whole time and if not, then at least the other lady will have understood the Dr King speech by then I hope. Haven't been here in years but still Amazing! Had the chicken and ribs combo with mashed potatoes and macaroni salad. Everything was perfect and so flavorful. We ordered to go and was pretty quick plus the staff was very friendly and chatted with us while we waited. We left with a big smile and now have full tummys. Thank you we WILL be back soon!

The food was really good and they cook to order so everything was fresh! I got the chicken leg and thigh meal, and it was good and fresh! My daughter got the chicken strips and that was even better! I also loved their barbecue sauce!

  • Chad S.

The chicken is really, really good. So what's with the "3 stars", you ask? Cause it'll take so long its as if they hatched the egg, raised the little chick into a respectable member of feathered society, helped him get a job, plumped him up, then slaughtered him and made delicious delights with his carcus. If you thing that was a long description, just trying ordering a meal here. I placed an order in my mid 30's and walked out collecting social security.

Been here twice and the chicken is good but the real standout is the coleslaw and the potato wedges. The coleslaw is the best I have ever had and the taters are awesome. Staff is very friendly and you get a lot of food for your buck.

Some of the best chicken I've ever had. That includes Mrs. Knotts and Roscoes. Definately the best broasted chicken around. The spuds are great. Prices are reasonable. The Gunslinger sauce has a good kick and you should try it with your chicken. My personal favorite place to eat in Havasu.

  • Sharon J.

The chicken is the only thing I have eaten here and it was very good. Sides were alright, they could have been better and bigger. Atmosphere was not as expected, but the chicken made up for it, next time I will get it to go.

Ate there to tonight, was surprised the chicken was tasty did not care for the ribs and did not eat much of them, had mashed potatoes and gravy just very ordinary as was potato salad! But the service was great! If I lived here would return for the chicken only! Went back on again on Friday for fish and chips, fish was good and and all you can eat, coleslaw was weird and bright green, french fries okay. Very busy but waitress stopped by a couple times.

Amazing chicken. Super amazing chicken. The sides were ok .. everything was definitely homemade. The bean salad was good, fries were decent. The service was fantastic and I swear we got more chicken than we ordered. Great place... highly recommended!

  • Tyson M.

I love this place, I would eat there everyday for lunch if I could. I get the Bites and Fries for around $6. They fill me up and make me sweat as they are a bit on the hot side. Everything on the menu is good as they broast their chicken. They tend to close around 8pm and around 4:30 I recommend calling ahead or placing your order as they tend to get busy fast and they start your order after you place it, so everything is fresh. If you get the chance order a deep fried twinkie you only need one but it is something else.

  • Brian P.

FOOD is great here enough said on that. only reason it does not have a 5 star is the women that work there are not the most happy people. but other then that, great chicken and love the hot sauce they carry.
